These antique gold bangles come as a set of two and are the slimmest and quietest pair in this range. A single row of square-set stones runs the length of each bangle, held in a scalloped frame, and the gold carries a deliberately darkened antique finish rather than a bright polish. The effect is closer to old polki jewellery than to modern AD work, which makes them a good choice if you find high-shine bangles too loud.
Each stone is square and flat-topped, set into a tilted mount so it sits as a diamond rather than a square, and the mounts alternate with tiny beaded dividers so the row reads as a continuous chain of light. Around that centre row, a scalloped border curves in and out along both edges, and it is this wavy outline rather than any extra stonework that gives the bangle its character. The antique finish is what ties it together: the gold is darkened in the recesses and left brighter on the raised edges, so the frame stands out against the stones instead of competing with them. Being slim, the pair sits close to the wrist and layers easily.
Slim antique bangles are made for stacking. Wear the pair together, or split them either side of a wider bangle so the fine row of stones frames the heavier piece. The darkened finish sits beautifully against deep traditional colours such as maroon, bottle green and rust, and it works with handloom and raw silk where a bright gold bangle would look out of place. They are also restrained enough to wear with a plain kurta when you want something on the wrist but nothing showy.
Festivals, pujas and daytime functions, handloom and traditional dressing, small family gatherings, and gifting to someone whose taste runs antique rather than bright.
This design is made in sizes 2.4 and 2.10. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
An antique finish is deliberately darkened, so never use metal polish or a cleaning dip on these: both strip the darkening and leave the bangle looking patchy. A dry soft cloth is all they need. Keep them away from water, perfume and sanitiser, and store the pair in a soft pouch away from harder jewellery.
