An oval plaque filled with tight silver scrollwork, at the centre of which four marquise cut stones are set as a cross around a small round one. A raised beaded border runs around the outside. It hangs from a fine chain, and the matching studs are the same oval at ear size.
Available in 9 colours: Blue, White, Multi Color, Red, Sea Green, Black, Baby Pink, Ruby and Green. The colour refers to the stones.
Four stones set as a cross is a very old arrangement and it reads as a flower, a star or a wheel depending on how you look at it. That ambiguity is what makes it work across so many different outfits — nothing about it is tied to a particular tradition.
The scrollwork around it is dense enough that the stones sit in a completely textured field. There is no plain metal anywhere on the pendant, which is why a piece this small still reads as detailed.
Tight curls covering the whole plaque, cut deeply enough to hold shadow in the oxidised finish. It is what gives the pendant its antique character.
Four marquise cuts and one round, set flush. Nine colour options, and because the stones are small the colour reads as an accent rather than the subject.
The pendant sits just below the collarbone on a fine chain. Very light, and small enough to wear every day.
Everything, from kurtas to shirts to sarees. It also layers well under a longer chain, which is harder with a wider pendant.
There is a practical argument for owning the same small pendant in two or three colours rather than three different designs. You already know it suits you, you already know how it sits, and the earrings match every version — so the second and third purchases are risk free in a way a new design never is. It also makes getting dressed faster, which is the real value of everyday jewellery. Designs with many colour options exist precisely because people who like one tend to come back for another, and small pendants are where that makes most sense.
A small oval on a fine chain is one of the few traditional pieces that works with a buttoned shirt or a closed kurta, because there is no width to push the fabric out of shape. Sit the pendant just below where the collar closes so the scrollwork is fully visible rather than half hidden, and keep the chain on the shorter side — a long chain under a collar disappears into the placket. With an open neckline it can sit wherever it falls naturally.
Never use a silver dip, which strips the oxidised finish and softens the scrollwork. Put it on after perfume and wipe with a dry soft cloth.
