A collar that follows the curve of the collarbone in one continuous band, paved with small red stones, with a larger round medallion at the centre front.
A collar and a choker are often sold as the same thing and they are not. A choker sits high on the throat; a collar sits lower, on the collarbone itself, and follows its curve. The difference decides what it can be worn with — a collar needs the neckline to be cut away, because any fabric at the collarbone will interrupt it mid-curve.
Worn correctly, a collar is the most formal necklace shape there is. It frames the base of the throat completely rather than ornamenting it, which is why it appears on bridal sets far more often than on everyday jewellery.
Setting many small stones close together with minimal metal showing is called pave, and it exists to turn a surface into light. At a distance a paved band reads as a continuous glittering line rather than as individual stones. The round medallion at the centre interrupts that line deliberately, giving the collar a front and stopping it reading as a plain hoop of brightness.
Strictly for an open neckline and an occasion. Hair up, no second necklace, and earrings kept small — a collar this wide does not share attention well.
Only the Red is stocked, which is the colourway this collar set was designed around and the one in every photograph on this page.
Checkout runs through an enquiry on this one. Send it and we come back with availability, the final price and how long delivery will take.
Cubic zirconia does the bright work here and coloured glass does the colour. Each is used where it is better — CZ wins on light, glass wins on saturation, and no part of the piece pretends to be a mined stone.
The body is brass under a gold-tone plating, which is what gives it weight in the hand without the price of the metal it imitates.
Nothing here is hallmarked and nothing here holds resale value. What it holds is design: shapes drawn from a jewellery tradition several centuries old, made at a weight and a price that let you match a piece to one outfit without thinking twice about it. That is a perfectly good reason to buy jewellery, and it is the only claim this page makes.
Sizing is the usual worry when jewellery is bought for someone else, and it barely applies here. Necklaces and sets fasten with an adjustable chain, earrings need only a pierced lobe, and nothing has to be measured in advance. It arrives boxed and ready to give.
A plated surface survives on being kept dry. Keep it out of water and perfume, give it a wipe after use, and it will hold its colour for a long time. Keyura takes prepaid payment only, with no cash-on-delivery anywhere on the site.
