This is the piece you reach for when the occasion is genuinely big. A pachi kundan choker that curves around the base of the neck in a collar shape, packed edge to edge with stonework, and finished with a full fringe of tiny pearls that moves every time you turn your head.
Available in 2 colours: Red White and Blue White. Red White is the classic bridal pairing, with deep red kundan stones set against green accents and white pearls. Blue White swaps the red for cool blue tones, which is the easier choice if your outfit is already carrying a lot of red or if you want something that reads slightly more modern.
Pachi kundan is a setting technique rather than a stone, and it is what gives this choker its texture. Each stone is seated in a bed of metal and pressed into place, so the surface around every stone is raised and worked rather than flat. Look closely at the collar and you will see alternating rounds and teardrops, red stones framed in white, green hexagonal stones framed in gold, and small silver rosettes filling the spaces in between. Nothing on the surface is left plain.
The metalwork runs in two tones at once. Oxidised antique silver forms the base and the filigree rosettes, while gold finished sections frame the larger stones and cap both ends of the collar. The effect is that the necklace never reads as flat silver or flat gold. It has depth, and it picks up whichever metal you have already chosen for your bangles.
The centre carries a large round medallion, easily the size of the palm of a small hand, worked in concentric rings of oxidised silver with a gold and kundan centre. Around its lower edge and along the full length of the collar hangs a dense fringe of small white pearls, strung in short clusters. That fringe is what makes the piece feel alive rather than rigid, because it sways with you.
Instead of a metal clasp, the choker closes with a black thread dori wrapped in silver binding, ending in a tassel. This matters more than it sounds. It means the fit is fully adjustable, so you can wear it high and snug like a proper choker or let it sit a little lower, depending on the neckline you are working with. It also means one size genuinely works for everyone.
The earrings echo the medallion in miniature. Each one has a small oxidised rosette at the top and a round gold rimmed disc below, centred with a turquoise stone, edged with the same pearl fringe. They are noticeably lighter than they look, which is welcome across a long wedding evening.
Wear it with a heavy silk saree, a lehenga, or a well cut anarkali, ideally with a deep or wide neckline so the collar sits against skin rather than fabric. Because the necklace is doing so much, keep the rest simple. The matching earrings, a few plain bangles and nothing else. Pull your hair up or to one side so the full curve of the collar and the pearl fringe stay visible.
Store it flat in a zip lock pouch so the pearl fringe does not tangle. Wear it after perfume, never before. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth and keep it away from water and humidity, which dull both the oxidised finish and the pearls.
