This oxidised stone burst pendant long necklace set is the most stone-dense piece in this group, and the deliberate opposite of the pierced designs beside it. The pendant is a large disc packed so completely with stones that almost no silver shows: teardrops radiate outward from a central stone in overlapping rings, filling the face edge to edge, with white pearls clustered along the lower rim. The chain is built from small flower clusters of the same stones, and long matching earrings repeat the arrangement in two tiers.

Design Details

Every stone is cut to sit against its neighbours, teardrops in the outer rings pointing outward, rounds filling the spaces between them, and a larger stone at the very centre, so the eye reads one continuous burst of colour rather than individual settings. The silver appears only as the thin lines between stones and as a fine beaded rim, which is what makes the pendant read as a solid block at a distance. On the chain, each link is a small flower of five or six stones around a centre, joined directly to the next with no plain chain between, so colour runs unbroken from the back of the neck. The earrings are built in two parts: a flower stud at the top and a larger stone-packed drop below, hung so they swing, with pearls at the lowest edge. Small white pearl clusters also fringe the pendant.

Styling Suggestions

A pendant this saturated wants a plain dark background so the colour reads as one glowing shape. Black, deep green, maroon and navy all work; pale or busy fabric takes the definition out of it. It is a bridal-weight look, so treat it as the whole statement: plain neckline, hair up so the long earrings show, and nothing at the wrists that competes.

Care Instructions

With stones set this closely there is very little bare metal and a great many edges, so clean with a dry soft brush across the face rather than a cloth.
