Design Details

The chain is worked in a repeating unit of three: two leaf-shaped stones angled away from each other with a small square stone between them, set into silver links that show only as thin outlines. Because the stones dominate and the metal recedes, the chain reads as a line of colour rather than as silver with stones added. The medallion at the front reverses that balance. It is a full circle with a broad silver border of raised dotwork, and inside it two peacocks in fine stippled relief stand either side of a six-petal stone flower, with smaller stones filling the gaps between their bodies and the rim. Teardrop stones run around the outer edge, and beneath them hang clusters of small white beads. The earrings carry a square stone stud above a fan of teardrops with their own bead fringe.
