This oxidised peacock long necklace set is built around a large round pendant flanked by two facing peacocks, hung from a line of stone-set links that runs up both sides to the neck. Faceted blue stones sit in every link and across the pendant, and a fringe of small white beads finishes the lower edge. The matching earrings repeat the peacock and the bead fringe at a scale that works beside the pendant rather than competing with it. Together they make a complete bridal and festive set in the antique silver idiom rather than a single accent piece.
The pendant is the centre of the design: a domed, openworked disc with a flower at its heart, ringed by a band of blue stones and framed on both sides by peacocks in profile, their tails drawn out into curling silver plumes. Below it, dozens of small white beads hang in short clusters and give the whole piece movement when you walk. The chain is not plain; it is made of individual links, each set with a blue stone in a scalloped silver mount, so the line reads as jewellery all the way to the neck rather than as a plain support. The oxidised finish is carried over every part, with the darkened recesses throwing the stamped feather and flower detail into relief. The earrings are chandbali in spirit, with a peacock pair above a stone-set crescent and the same bead fringe below, and they close with a hook fitting.
This is a long set, so it wants a neckline that leaves the chest open: a plain saree blouse, a boat neck, or a simple kurta without its own embroidery at the neck. Silk, chanderi and cotton all carry it well, and because the blue stones are the only colour in the piece, an outfit in ivory, mustard, deep green or navy will make them read clearly. Wear your hair up so the earrings are visible. Skip a second necklace entirely, and keep bangles plain silver-tone rather than stone-set so the set stays the focus.
Weddings and receptions, sangeet and mehendi evenings, Navratri, Diwali and Durga Puja, and gifting for an engagement or a first wedding in the family. It suits anyone who wants a complete traditional set without the weight or expense of real silver.
Store the necklace and the earrings flat and separately so the bead fringes do not tangle with each other. Keep the set away from water, perfume, hair spray and sanitiser, and put it on only after you have finished dressing. Wipe the metal with a dry soft cloth after wearing, taking care around the stone settings, and return it to its pouch rather than leaving it out in humid air.
