This oxidised peacock crescent necklace is the most stone-dense piece in this group. The pendant is a broad crescent whose entire face is filled with cut stones set edge to edge, with almost no bare silver showing between them, and two peacocks stand across the top on a horizontal bar. A thick fringe of white beads wraps around both sides and the lower curve, so the pendant is framed in white on three sides. The photographed piece is in green, and the design comes in five colours.
The chain is built from open scrollwork links, each a pair of curling silver tendrils with a small stone where they meet, which gives it a lighter, airier look than a solid link chain. Below a stone flower connector sits the horizontal bar carrying the two peacocks, modelled facing each other with stippled bodies and raised tails. The crescent hangs from that bar. Its face is laid out in concentric bands of stones, round in the innermost ring, then teardrops fanning outward, each in its own thin bezel with a beaded silver line separating the rows. Because the stones cover the whole surface, the pendant reads as a solid block of colour at a distance and only resolves into individual settings up close. The bead fringe is unusually full, hanging in clusters from both sides as well as the bottom edge. Available in Green, Blue, Baby Pink, Black and Mint.
A pendant this saturated wants a plain, dark background. It is at its best over black, deep green, maroon or navy, where the stones read as a single glowing shape, and it loses definition against busy prints or pale washed-out colours. Wear it with a plain saree blouse or an unembroidered kurta neckline. Keep earrings small and oxidised: with a fringe this full, a matching pair at the ear would be too much.
Weddings and receptions, Navratri and Durga Puja, sangeet evenings, festive dinners, and gifting to someone who likes their oxidised jewellery bold rather than restrained.
With stones set this closely, there is little bare metal to clean and a lot of edges to catch, so use a dry soft brush rather than a cloth across the face of the pendant. Keep the necklace away from water, perfume, hair spray and sanitiser, and store it flat in its pouch with the bead fringe supported rather than hanging.
