Product Description

Product Overview

This oxidised Nandi arch pendant necklace set is laid out like a shrine. An arched top is set with stones around a dark teardrop at its centre, exactly as a temple niche frames its deity, and beneath it two Nandi bulls stand facing each other on a bar of square stones, with a row of small silver bells hanging below. The chain is a plain double strand of oxidised beads that keeps all attention on the pendant. Matching earrings repeat the arch, the bulls and the bell fringe at a smaller scale.

Design Details

The arch is built from a beaded outer rim enclosing a band of small round stones, with a stippled silver field inside and a smooth dark teardrop cabochon at the centre. Below the arch, a lattice panel fills the space behind the two bulls, which are modelled in full relief with raised humps, lowered heads and clearly separated legs, standing on a horizontal bar inlaid with square stones set edge to edge. From the lower edge of that bar hangs a row of small solid silver bells, evenly spaced, which swing and sound faintly as you walk. The proportions are deliberately architectural: arch above, figures in the middle, base below. Available in Blue, Baby Pink, Aqua, Yellow and Mint.

Product Highlights

  • Temple arch pendant framing a dark teardrop stone
  • Twin Nandi bulls modelled in full relief on a stone-inlaid bar
  • Row of small solid silver bells along the base
  • Plain double bead chain so the pendant stays the focus
  • Available colours: Blue, Baby Pink, Aqua, Yellow, Mint

Styling Suggestions

This is devotional jewellery and it sits most naturally with traditional fabric: a cotton or silk saree, a plain kurta, or khadi. The pendant is compact rather than wide, so it works with a narrower neckline than most temple pieces, including a simple round neck. Keep the outfit solid so the architecture of the pendant reads clearly, and wear the matching earrings rather than adding your own.

Perfect For

Temple visits, Mahashivratri, festival days, pujas at home, classical performances, exhibitions, and gifting to someone devoted to Shiva or fond of South Indian silver.

Product Details

  • Base metal: brass with a silver-tone oxidised finish
  • Pendant: stone-set arch over twin Nandi bulls on an inlaid bar
  • Fringe: row of small solid silver bells
  • Set includes: one necklace and one pair of matching earrings
  • Available colours: Blue, Baby Pink, Aqua, Yellow, Mint

Care Instructions

The bells and the lattice behind the bulls both collect dust, so use a dry soft brush rather than a cloth. Keep the set away from water, perfume, hair spray, sanitiser and kumkum, and store it flat in its pouch so the bells are not crushed and the modelled figures are not knocked out of true.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is laid out like a shrine: an arched niche at the top framing a stone, with two Nandi bulls standing below it. Nandi is the bull who sits before every Shiva temple.
Five: Blue, Baby Pink, Aqua, Yellow and Mint. The silverwork is the same in each, so only the stones change.
Yes. A matching pair is included, repeating the arch, the bulls and the bell fringe at a smaller size.
No, and we would rather say so: this piece reached us without a usable weight figure. It is a compact pendant on a bead chain and is light in wear, as the photographs suggest.
They are solid silver-tone bells that swing and sound faintly as you walk. Bells are traditional on devotional and tribal silver rather than a modern decoration.
It is compact rather than wide, which makes it easier to wear than most temple-style pieces. It suits a narrower neckline, including a plain round neck.
Yes, that is what it is made for. Keep it clear of kumkum, oil and water during a ceremony, as those mark the recessed silverwork over time.
The metal is brass with a silver-tone finish. If brass or plated jewellery usually irritates your skin, this set is unlikely to suit you.
With a dry soft brush, which reaches the lattice behind the bulls and the gaps between the bells. Do not use water or liquid polish.
