This oxidised four strand tassel long necklace set does something few necklaces attempt: the pendant does not end, it falls. A crested top piece spans the chain, and from its lower edge four parallel strands of stamped floral plates hang straight down, each ending in a white pearl. The result is a long silver tassel that moves as a unit when you walk, and it gives the piece a vertical drop far greater than a conventional pendant. Design Details

The crest at the top is the only dense metalwork: a stepped silver form with two animal figures facing outward at the shoulders, a small stone at its centre, and a fluted band running beneath it from which the strands are hung. Each strand is made of identical floral plates, stamped with a domed centre and a scalloped edge, linked one below the next so they overlap slightly like scales and flex as a chain rather than hanging stiff. Small stones punctuate the plates at intervals along the strands. The four strands are cut to slightly different lengths, the outer pair shorter than the inner pair, so the tassel ends in a shallow curve rather than a flat line, and each finishes with a plain white pearl.
