This oxidised elephant fan pendant necklace set is built on a single strong shape. The pendant is a broad fan, filled almost entirely by one large cabochon cut to match its outline, and the elephant stands across the top of it as though on a platform, caparisoned with a stamped silver blanket. A row of enamel petals in the same colour runs around the fan's lower curve, each ending in a small pearl. The matching earrings are miniature versions of the fan without the elephant. The set photographed uses a warm yellow, and the design comes in three colours.

Design Details

The cabochon is what carries the piece: a single smooth stone cut as a wide triangle with a curved base, large enough to fill the pendant and read as one clean block of colour against all the silver. Around it, a frame of stippled silver is stamped with a lattice pattern, and along the lower edge a row of small enamel petals alternates with beaded silver bosses, each hung with a tiny pearl. The elephant above is modelled with a raised trunk, a scalloped ear and a decorated blanket across its back, standing on a bar that bridges the top of the fan, and a short length of chain runs from its back to the necklace so the pendant hangs from the animal rather than from a plain loop.
