A fluted silver ball chain carries a scalloped plaque engraved with a lotus in full bloom, leaves curling out on either side and a small stone set into the flower. Beneath it hangs a large half moon stone in a plain bezel, flanked by peacocks with clear stones along their tails, and dense pearl clusters fill the lower half. The matching earrings repeat the lotus plaque above their own pearl clusters.
Available in 9 colours: Sea Green, Black, Baby Pink, Green, Red, White, Yellow, Ruby and Multi Color. The colour refers to the half moon stone.
The pendant is two complete pieces joined — an engraved plaque and a stone pendant — each of which could stand alone. Stacking them gives the piece a vertical fall that a single element could not, and lets the engraving and the stone each have their own space.
The lotus above is cut entirely in metal, with only one tiny stone at its heart. That restraint is what makes the large stone below read as the centre of the design rather than one of two competing elements.
Flat cut, broad and set low in a plain bezel. Its straight upper edge sits against the peacocks, which is why the shape looks deliberate rather than simply large.
Dense and in mixed sizes, filling the lower half of the pendant. They almost obscure the silver behind them, which is the traditional treatment and the reason the pendant reads as soft at the bottom and sharp at the top.
The pendant sits just below the collarbone. Moderate weight, and the fluted ball chain lies flat without twisting.
Plain cotton, handloom and simple silk. Nine colours means the half moon can be matched exactly to an outfit, or kept neutral in white.
The lotus is the most widely used motif in Indian art, and its meaning is unusually consistent across traditions — it grows from muddy water and opens clean, so it stands for purity emerging from difficulty. In jewellery it is also simply a very good shape to engrave: radiating petals fill a circular or scalloped space naturally, the overlapping layers give a flat surface implied depth, and the form is recognisable even when reduced to a few lines. That combination of meaning and practicality is why it appears on everything from temple ceilings to the back of a pendant nobody will see.
Never use a silver dip, which strips the oxidised finish and softens the engraving. Wipe with a dry soft cloth and store flat.
