A choker that sits high on the throat, built around a flat openwork panel of cubic zirconia flowers with a row of deep red beads strung along its lower edge, and a pair of matching studs.
A choker is defined by where it sits rather than by what it is made of. Worn on the narrowest part of the throat, it draws the eye upward to the face instead of down the chest, which is why it suits a high or closed neckline that would swallow a longer necklace. It is also the one necklace length that reads as deliberate rather than decorative.
The panel here is kept flat and openwork rather than domed and solid. Flat means it follows the curve of the neck without standing away from it; openwork means light passes through the piece as well as bouncing off it, so the design does not read as a solid band of metal at a distance.
Hanging a row of beads along the bottom edge is an old finishing device and it does two things at once. It gives the panel a defined lower line so the design stops cleanly instead of fading into the throat, and it adds a second material — smooth, opaque, saturated — against the faceted sparkle above it. Red against white stones is the most common pairing in Indian bridal jewellery for the simple reason that it reads clearly from across a room.
Wear it with the throat bare and the hair up or back; a choker worn under loose hair is invisible. It suits a boat neck, a deep round neck or a saree blouse cut away at the collarbone, and it does not want a second necklace beside it.
There is a single colourway, Red. It is what the choker set was drawn for, and what will arrive.
Instead of an add-to-cart button there is an enquiry button, deliberately: these arrive in small runs per colour and we would rather confirm the shade is in hand than refund you later.
What sparkles is cubic zirconia; what carries colour is glass. That split is deliberate, and it is the honest description of almost every piece of Indian costume jewellery at this price.
Brass carries the plating here. Heavy enough to feel like jewellery, soft enough to be worked finely, and stable over years.
The photographs on this page are of the piece itself under ordinary light rather than a studio set-up, so what you see is close to what arrives. Screens do shift colour, golds especially, so if an exact shade matters to you, ask on the enquiry and we will describe it against something familiar.
Keep it away from water, perfume and hair spray, and put it on after you have finished dressing rather than before. A dry cotton cloth after wearing, and a closed pouch rather than an open drawer, is the whole routine. This is a prepaid order like every other on Keyura; no COD option exists.
