Spacing is the design

There is no pendant here and no centrepiece. What the piece offers instead is interval — a run of identical drops at a fixed distance from one another along the front of the chain. Everything depends on that distance being right: too close and the drops merge into a band, too far and they look like an afterthought.

Necklaces built on rhythm rather than on a focal point are unusual at this price, because they are less forgiving to assemble. There is no large ornament to draw the eye away from an uneven gap.

Squares that hang from a corner

Each drop is a square suspended from one of its corners, which turns it into a diamond on the body. That small rotation is doing real work: a square hung flat sits inert, while the same square turned forty-five degrees creates a point at the bottom and gives the row a saw-tooth lower edge that catches light at every step.

How to wear it

Light, quiet and easy to wear with ordinary clothes. It works particularly well with a round neckline, where the row of drops can follow the curve of the fabric.

Cubic zirconia does the bright work here and coloured glass does the colour. Each is used where it is better — CZ wins on light, glass wins on saturation, and no part of the piece pretends to be a mined stone.

Underneath the colour it is brass. That is why it sits with some weight rather than feeling like foil, and why it holds its shape.
