The front is a single broad panel of oxidised silver, engraved across its whole surface and inlaid with two gold meenakari rectangles and a row of stone set florets. Along the lower edge hangs a dense fringe of white pearl clusters. It ties with a black dori, and the matching earrings are leaf shaped panels in the same treatment.
Available in 7 colours: Yellow, Baby Pink, Ruby, Sea Green, Black, White and Green. The colour refers to the enamel and stone accents.
Where most chokers are built from linked elements, this is one continuous panel, and that changes its character completely. It reads as a single worked surface — closer to a cuff worn at the throat than to a necklace — which is a considerably bolder look.
Engraving the entire silver ground rather than leaving it plain is what saves it from heaviness. The cut lines catch light across the whole panel, so a large area of metal never sits flat or dull.
Two rectangles of gold meenakari are set into the silver, enamelled and bordered with raised lines. Because they are inlaid rather than applied on top, they sit flush with the surface, which is a more refined result and considerably harder to achieve.
Dense clusters rather than a single strung row, so the lower edge is full and soft against the hard engraved panel above. The contrast between the two is the point.
Sits high as a choker. Substantial, but the panel is thin sheet metal rather than solid, so it is lighter than a collar of similar width.
Plain solid fabrics and an open neckline. Black, white, indigo and mustard all suit. Skip other necklaces entirely and let the matching earrings complete it.
There are two ways to put gold onto silver. The easy one is to make a gold element and solder it on top, which leaves it standing proud and catching on clothing. The harder one is to cut a recess and set the gold into it so both surfaces finish level. Inlay takes longer, wastes more metal and cannot be corrected once cut, but the result is smoother to wear and visually far more integrated. Running a finger across the join is the quickest way to tell which you are looking at.
Store it flat in a pouch so the pearl clusters are not crushed. Keep the dori dry, put it on after perfume, and wipe with a dry soft cloth.
