A fine gold chain carries a scattering of small round discs, each holding red and clear kundan inside a close ring of seed pearls, spaced between tiny gold charms, floral links and short barrel beads. At the centre hangs an oval pendant in pale enamel, bordered in gold and set with a red kundan motif at its middle. The chain is finished with a gold thread and a tassel of pearls and coloured beads, and the matching studs repeat the pearl ringed disc.
Available in 2 colours: Sea Green and Red. The colour refers to the enamel pendant and the kundan.
The elements are scattered along the chain rather than massed at the front, which is a much lighter way to build a necklace. Each disc and charm sits alone with clear chain either side, so the piece has presence without weight.
The enamel pendant is the only large element, and keeping it pale against all that gold is what stops it from being lost among the kundan above.
Each small kundan disc is surrounded by a tight circle of seed pearls, set close enough to read as a solid white outline. It is a traditional Rajasthani treatment and it makes a very small element visible from a distance.
Tiny gold figures and floral links sit between the discs, too small to read individually at arm's length but enough to keep the chain from looking bare between the main elements.
Long, with the enamel pendant at the centre of the chest, adjustable by the thread tassel. Very light — this is the kind of piece that can be worn through a whole day.
Cotton, chanderi, light silks and everyday kurtas. It is too delicate to compete with a heavily worked outfit, and it does not need to.
Weight is the reason most ornate jewellery is taken off early, and it is not the total weight that matters so much as where it sits. A heavy piece concentrated in one pendant pulls at a single point on the neck, while the same weight distributed along a chain is barely noticed. Scattered construction, like the discs and charms here, spreads the load and also lets the piece follow the body instead of resting on it. If you are choosing something for a function that runs from morning to night, distribution matters more than the number on the scale.
Keep the thread and the enamel dry, put it on after perfume, and store it flat so the chain does not tangle.
