This anti tarnish Korean-style Bracelet is built from two stone-set strands that twist around each other the whole way across the wrist, crossing and parting to leave open spaces between them. It gives the piece far more depth than a flat band, because the strands sit at different heights and catch light at different angles as your hand moves. The open gaps between the twists also keep it from looking heavy despite the amount of stone on it. The anti-tarnish coating holds the gold even through the twists, where the metal turns in on itself and an ordinary plating would wear first.
Each strand carries its own continuous row of small clear stones, and the two cross at regular intervals so the pattern repeats evenly rather than wandering. Between each crossing the strands separate to leave an open lens-shaped gap, which is what gives the design its lightness and its sense of movement. The twisting continues around most of the wrist before the strands merge into a single plain band at the open back, where the cuff slides on. The setting is kept low throughout so the piece sits close to the wrist and nothing stands proud enough to catch on a sleeve.
The twist already gives the wrist texture and movement, so wear it alone rather than stacking. It is at its best in artificial light, where the different strand heights throw sparkle in more than one direction, which makes it a natural evening piece. Against plain fabric it reads clearly; against heavy embroidery the open gaps fill visually and the twist is lost entirely.
Festive evenings, weddings as a guest, parties and dinners out. It is also a good choice if you like stone-set jewellery but find a solid band of pave too flat and want something with more shape and movement to it.
The crossings and gaps collect residue faster than a flat band, so wipe the Korean-style Bracelet with a dry soft cloth after each wear and work a clean dry makeup brush through the open spaces between the strands. Keep perfume and sanitiser off it and put it on last. Never soak it or use liquid cleaner, which leaves a film between the strands that is very hard to reach. Store it alone in its pouch.
